There are two bars in the IFSC. This is the better one. (For the other see Pubs\Excise). Anyway, this pub has a half-decent restaurant out the back, leather sofas to recline on, a sky screen via a projector, but most importantly has the second best chicken-wings in Dublin (for the best see Restaurants\Elephant and Castle). All the people in the financial centre that are comfortable with their position and performance tend to sup after work in this pub. Wannabes tend to drink in the Excise.
No. I'm not suggesting one goes with a hand-bag. This is a Russian themed bar just north of the famous landmark (when pissed) the Ha'penny Bridge. Great place. Barstaff are aloof and dismissive, but that's ok, it made me all nostalgic for London! It's got a late licence and is the perfect venue to while away that most dangerous of times, the post-pub-pre-club hours....
Hardly a pub, but this is the best place to put this. If you're a visitor to Dublin and you're prioritising the distribution of time spent wandering around looking at stuff, then this is ranked a definite second. (First place goes to observing the natives in the Leeson Street clubs in the early hours (see Pits of Depravity)).
If you're going, I'd advise doing the Guinness tour one day, and then at the end of your visit, doing the Irish Whisky tour. That's a blinder, quite literally.
Bored with the same old venue in the UK for a party? The Guinness Storehouse offers party venues for anything up to 1,200 people. Sorry though lads, no stag nights......

mmmmMMMMMmmmmm. Beeeeeeeerrr......
Alas dear, dear Barclay. You allowed your girls to trade in areas other than those one would normally expect from a pole-dancer. And alas, thy licence was revoked. Alas for us too, as it was the one place you could go to meet English girls, and every girl had an 'agent'. What a marvellous twist on the genre. Gone now though.
A themed bar housed in the old Pierce Street firestation. Four great pool tables, with bucket pockets, 12 euro an hour to play, which allows you to whack the balls around as fast as you like. Beer is reasonable, service great, and Wed - Sat the place turns into a nightclub.
In fact we're on our way now, as the world of the quantitative is in dire need of a good hard...........pint.........
Off Tara Street, just south of the river, you'll find one of the most popular bars known to man. (I drink there anyway). This bar is the star of the show 'Bachelor's Walk', a reasonable soap-type thing on Irish television. Drinking there can sometimes lead to your (I know, I know, hilarious at the time) antics ending up on prime-time television.
Great pint too.
Just off Dame Street in Temple Bar. About as cheesy as you can get, but knowing this helps make the place a completely stress-free environment. Dance your socks off and party to the early hours. Ah, the vodka and red-bull flows....
