An indian restuarant sitting the south side (or behind) the Bleeding Horse, at the top of George's street. It's not mentioned here for it's culinary expertise, but for the fact that it's one of only two places in Dublin where one may get hold of a Cobra and a Vindaloo at 5am. How do I know this? You should see the rennies I'm getting through today...
Quite simply the best steak in Ireland. Think of it. For the starter, a large pancake covered in a wafer thin layer of smoked salmon, warmed, a huge dollop of creme freche in the middle, topped with caviar.
The steak, corr. Did I mention the steak? Closest to Oregon I've ever experienced. You'd think your knife had 'Moses' engraved down the side it parts so easily. Served with mashed potato and creamed spinach straight from Dante's Seventh. Wonderful!
Talking about the desserts will get me arrested. The only drawback is the price, but what the hell? Live a little....
I know, I know. It's a crass venue, but the sad fact is, it's still the one place in Dublin you can go for cocktails that are so powerful you don't really care what the food is like. But it's also the one place you'll find that most sought-after dish, deep-fried breadcrumbed jalapeno peppers injected with cream cheese.........hmmmm
